Q. Is there a rehearsal for convocation?

A. There will not be a rehearsal for students. All necessary information will be relayed to you prior to the convocation and check-in at NJPAC is at 2:45 PM.

Q. How many guests can I invite to the convocation?

A. Graduates who indicated "attending" the convocation are entitled to three (3) complimentary tickets for their guests. All graduates must input their guests' names and email addresses via the Marching Order website. This is the website all graduates will use to register themselves. Everyone who enters the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) must have a ticket, including infants (babies-in-arms) and children. If you need additional tickets, please ask your classmates if they are not using all of their tickets. RBS is unable to give out any extra tickets.

Q. What should I wear under my regalia?

A. In general, business casual is highly recommended. Shoes should be comfortable. Women are encouraged to consider wearing low pumps or flats.

Q. What shouldn't I bring?

A. You should not carry purses, cameras, flowers, etc.  Your hands should be free to shake hands with the Dean, receive your ceremonial diploma and take professional photographs.

Q. What time do I need to be on at NJPAC?

A. All graduates should plan to arrive to NJPAC no later than 2:30 PM for check-in and to receive your name cards. All graduates must be in their seats by 3:30 PM. Guests will be escorted to the auditorium.

Q. Will there be a professional photographer at the convocation?

A. Yes, professional photographers will take individual photos of each graduate. Each graduate will take two (2) shots: standing pose and as they receive their diploma.

Q. How should I wear my tassel prior to receiving my diploma?

A. You should wear your tassel on the left and it remains on the left because you are graduate students. The changing of the tassel is for undergraduate students.

Q. Will the event be livestreamed?

A. Yes, the link will be shared on our main page starting at 4 PM EST on May 15th.

Q. Where do I park?

A. Parking is available near and at NJPAC. Each of these lots contain special parking locations for handicapped patrons.

In addition to the NJPAC parking, all graduates and guests can park for free in the following Rutgers University campus lots and walk to NJPAC. Walking to NJPAC from each of the following lots will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Rutgers student Parking Information will be emailed to you as we get closer to the graduation date.
