The Department Chair appoints the Departmental Doctoral Committee and the Departmental Doctoral Coordinator. In several of the departments, the Chair also serves as Doctoral Coordinator.
The Chair makes teaching assignments for teaching assistants as well as for faculty members in their department. In consultation with the Program Director and the Associate Deans for Rutgers Business and NJIT SOM, the Chair assigns teaching assistants to various other duties, including course development, teaching assistance, and research assistance.
