Rutgers Business School Policies

MBA students immediately have access to the MBA Office of Career Management upon their enrollment into the Full Time and/or Part Time MBA Program.  MBA students can make appointments to meet with the OCM for assistance with resume, cover letter, personal branding and online presence, mock interviews, and career coaching as soon as they are admitted into the MBA program. However, the OCM can only help you if you help yourself.

OCM Agreement: Students are required to read and complete the OCM Agreement prior to their summer internship or full-time job search.

BusinessKnight: Students are responsible for establishing their own BusinessKnight accounts, and for keeping their information up to date and factual (this includes, contact information, e-mail addresses, resumes, cover letters, and profiles). Providing false information will result in losing all BusinessKnight privileges.

Resume Submission, Review, and Approval: OCM reserves the right to approve resumes and cover letters that will represent Rutgers Business School. Only resumes and cover letters in the RBS Formats will be approved in BusinessKnight.  In return, we promise to provide detailed feedback to help you make the necessary improvements to your resume and cover letter.

Career Coaching: The MBA Office of Career Management (OCM) will assist you with career coaching, job search tools, and resources available to help you become a competitive MBA candidate.  We will assist you with the career process including your resume, cover letter, mock interview, executive presence, and personal branding throughout your career journey with Rutgers Business School MBA Program. Therefore, I understand that the OCM is not an employment agency or a headhunter, but we will help market you to employers. The OCM helps students become competitive MBA candidates. Students, however, need to take ownership of their career management process, which includes the students’ efforts in choosing a career path, then targeting positions, companies, and industries.

No-Show/Lateness Policy for On-Campus Interviews and OCM events:  A student who does not show up or arrives late for an on-campus or off-campus interview or OCM event may be deactivated from BusinessKnight and ineligible for all further on-campus interviews or OCM events, until the Director of the OCM receives a written explanation from the student describing the personal or medical emergency that caused the no-show or lateness. A letter of apology to the employer, under the supervision of the Director, may be required.

No-Show/Lateness Policy for scheduled OCM appointments: A student must cancel an appointment at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. If a student does not show up to a scheduled appointment, it will be treated as a No-show. In such cases, a written explanation will be required to describe the personal or medical emergency that caused the No-show. A student should not expect to have his/her appointment honored if he/she arrives late, especially after 10 minutes. Arriving late to an appointment may result in the OCM asking the student to reschedule.

By pressing Submit below and executing this Agreement electronically, I affirm that I have read and agree to honor the letter and spirit of this Agreement.
