The Scarlet Student Managed Fund program creates an environment where students gain hands-on experience of what it is like to work on a real investment management team. In this program, you and your cohort of fellow students will work with real investment funds to bring optimal results to your portfolios.
Mission
“Managing Scarlet Student Funds” courses are designed as a training program that provides on-campus internship opportunities. It will help you develop investment frameworks that support long-term success.
You will build a theoretical foundation of rigorous research, gain practical experience in managing investment portfolios across sectors, and learn to become an effective communicator. Most importantly, you will have access to some of the industry’s most successful investors.

Continuity
Students enrolled in the program will be in the course for two semesters.
- Rolling recruitment ensures continuity over time.
- Portfolio management decisions can then be assessed over time and through market cycles.
Similar to internship opportunities, students will be assigned roles in the course.
- Analysts in both semesters.
- Portfolio Managers in the second semester.
Apply
Interested students should submit a cover letter along with their CV here in order to be registered for the course. In the cover letter, students should explain the classes they have taken that are related to fund management (such as Aggregate Economic Analysis and Financial Management) or relevant work experience. Selected students will be enrolled in the course on a rolling basis. Class size is capped, and priorities will be given to early applicants.
