Master of Business Administration Awards

Dean’s Distinguished Leadership Award – MBA Program

This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to positive leadership, excellent academic achievement, good moral character and who has provided outstanding service to the school. This student’s name will be inscribed on the Rutgers Business School Bell for perpetuity.

Dr. Rosa Oppenheim Leadership Award

This award honors Executive Vice Dean Dr. Rosa Oppenheim's extraordinary commitment to Rutgers Business School and the leadership she has exhibited throughout her career, including two stints as interim dean. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to positive leadership.

Dr. S. George Walters Consulting Excellence Award

This award was established in honor of Dr. S. George Walters, professor emeritus, who founded the Interfunctional Management Team Consulting Program in 1971. It is awarded annually to the Interfunctional Management Team with the highest academic achievement in the program.

EDMUND L. HOUSTON – ALFREDA P. ROBINSON AWARD

This award is presented to the minority MBA student with the highest academic achievement.

Marketing Research Insights and Analytics (MRIA) Advisory Board Fellowship

The MRIA Advisory Board selects up to three awardees each year among MBA students with the MRIA Concentration based on academic merit.

Pharmaceutical Management Award

This award is sponsored by a graduate of the Pharmaceutical Management MBA program, who wishes to remain anonymous. It is given each year to a graduating MBA student concentrating in Pharmaceutical Management. The student must have a 3.5 GPA upon completion of 45 credits and must have made a significant contribution to the Pharmaceutical Management MBA program and the Pharmaceutical Management Club at Rutgers Business School. The award is based on nominations made by the director of the Pharmaceutical Management MBA program and voted on by all Pharmaceutical Management students, the director of the MBA Program, and the director of the MBA Office of Career Management.

Rutgers Business School Alumni Association Prize –MBA Program

This award is given each year to the students who have shown the greatest achievement in both scholastic and extracurricular activities.

Rutgers Business School Finance Advisory Board Award

This award is made on behalf of the school’s finance advisory board annually to an outstanding student in finance.

Rutgers Business School Marketing MBA Achievement Award

This award is given annually by the Department of Marketing to at least one full-time and at least one Flex MBA student who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in Marketing.

The Barbara Sackie Memorial Award – MBA Program

This award is presented to the student in the MBA Program on the New Brunswick campus who embodies the leadership and passion that Barbara Sackie brought to the program for over a decade. Barbara was a pioneer for the New Brunswick campus and as the sole employee built the program and created a family. As such, Barbara was the face of the MBA program, New Brunswick. The student receiving this award will honor Barbara’s memory by encompassing their own unique qualities with those of Barbara which include intelligence, insightfulness, selflessness, boldness, caring, inclusion, honesty, integrity, and ethics.

The Brick-Whitcomb Award

Established by John Longo and David Whitcomb, this award recognizes the MBA student who completes the best stock report for the course “Advanced Portfolio Management.”

The Center for Supply Chain Management Leadership Award

This award is given to the student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in Supply Chain Management.

Executive Master of Business Administration Awards

Rutgers Executive MBA Powerhouse Leadership Award

The EMBA Class of 1994 is the sponsor of this prize in the memory of their classmate. It is awarded to the EMBA graduate, selected by fellow students, who  best exemplifies the qualities of leadership and citizenship towards classmates  and the EMBA program.

The Rutgers Executive MBA, Dean Lei Lei Achievement Award

The EMBA Class of 1984 is the sponsor of this award. It is awarded annually to the EMBA graduate with the highest academic achievement in the EMBA program. This award is named in honor of our Dean Lei Lei, a dear friend and former professor of the Rutgers EMBA Program--The Powerhouse.

The Ted Marousas Award

This award is given by the director of the Rutgers Executive MBA Program to the students who have done the most to increase the size of the footprint of the Rutgers EMBA program in the New Jersey business community. This year, the POWERHOUSE honors the following students with this award, given what they have done to keep essential medical services available during Covid-19, while attending school full-time.

This award is presented to the executive MBA student who completes the most outstanding and the most unique course project for the annual Executive MBA International Trip.

The Rutgers Executive MBA, Singapore, Dean Lei Lei Achievement Award

This EMBA Singapore award is presented to the  EMBA, Singapore graduate with the highest academic achievement in the program,  in honor of Dean Lei and her many achievements.

The Touche Ross, A.H. and H.S. Puder Memorial Fund Academic Award

This award derives from the income of an endowment fund established in memory  of A.H. and H.S. Puder by their associates. The award recognizes two graduates  with the highest academic achievement in the Professional  Accounting Program.

Award for Academic Achievement Business Of Fashion (BOF)

This award is presented to the Master of Science in the Business of Fashion student  who earns the highest cumulative GPA while in the program.

This award for leadership and academic excellence is presented to a Master of  Science in Business of Fashion graduate who exemplifies the program's mission  and vision.

Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting

The Robert and Marcie Werner Award of Excellence in Governmental Accounting 

This award recognizes the student with the highest GPA in the graduating class and who displays professional excellence in academic work in the online Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting Program.

MSCA Director’s Award for Academic Excellence 

This award is based on the highest cumulative GPA of all courses counted toward their degree.

MSCA Director’s Award for Outstanding Achievements

This award is based on achievements during a student’s study period, including (but not limited to) case competitions (or other competitions), professional certificates earned, or research outputs in the field.

MSCA Director’s Award for Excellent Impacts

This award is based on student’s impacts on the MSCA program and RBS in a broader sense. Examples include all activities (such as social media campaign) helping the reputation of the program and RBS and support of program marketing and recruitment (such as assisting open house events).
