RBS IDEA- Scholarship Program

The RBS Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (RBS IDEA Office) oversees a growing list of needs-based and merit-based scholarships for undergraduate and graduate business students with donor preferences for students from historically underrepresented and underserved backgrounds and in some instances, students participating in specific RBS IDEA Office programs and initiatives. At RBS we understand and value the ability to provide supplemental funding and resources to assist students and families.

All eligible incoming and current RBS students are encouraged and welcome to apply.

The RBS IDEA Office provides one application for all scholarships. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible and must apply each year for consideration. Scholarships range from $500 to $10,000 per academic year. Renewal is possible but not assured. Scholarship applications are accepted year-round. We welcome all entries that meet our criteria.

Who should apply to the RBS IDEA Scholarship Program?

• Undergraduate and Graduate students at Rutgers Business School who identify as a member of a historically underrepresented or underserved group.
• Students with a financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA application on file in the Office of Financial Aid.
  • The first step for anyone applying for any type of financial aid, including scholarships, is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

In addition to an RBS IDEA Scholarship Program Application, applicants must also provide an updated resume, and typewritten essay that focuses on each of three topics below:

• What do you wish to accomplish with your degree and major and how do you see yourself making a difference in today’s diverse world?

• Describe how RBS’s commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) intersects with your own personal journey.

• How do you plan to advance IDEA principles at RBS?

Essays must be a minimum of 500 words and should not exceed 1000 words
