Matriculated RBS undergraduate juniors/seniors who have earned a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 may take up to 9 (nine) graduate credits.

The following conditions must be met:

  • The student is a junior/senior, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • The student meets any additional constraints imposed by the Program Director, in consultation with the Department Chair (when applicable).
  • The Program Director verifies the above and provides approval, subject to a cap of 5 students in classes with < 25 grad students. The cap would be 20% for > 25 grad students.
  • The Dean's office provides final approval.

How to Apply

Set up an appointment with your academic advisor. Make sure you have the course code and index number for your meeting.

The academic advisor will verify your level (junior or senior) and GPA and ask you to fill out an online form that will be reviewed by the dean’s office. You will be contacted within 48 hours if any further information is needed. A final decision will be e-mailed to your Rutgers e-mail address within 5 business days.

For all graduate-level course registrations, you must receive a special permission number which will be e-mailed to you 2 (two) weeks prior to the semester start.

Preference for any graduate-level courses is given to graduate students therefore we cannot guarantee space availability.
