2019-2020 WEB ASSIGNMENT PAGES
Web assignment pages are now available. Please see attached PDF for instructions on how to see students who have been assigned to work for you for the 2019-2020 academic year. Award amounts and pay rates for each student are also listed. If you believe that a student’s pay rate is listed incorrectly, please email seo_nwk@ofa.rutgers.edu. If you have multiple JDFs with the same job title and cannot determine which specific JDF students were assigned to, you should look at your individual JDFs to view a list of which students have been assigned to that specific JDF, which are separated out by whether they are new or returning.
You may begin contacting your students at any time on or after August 16. In fact, we strongly recommend that you reach out to students before the start of the academic year to discuss job details, set their work schedules, discuss required documentation for payroll onboarding, etc.
Some departments may see that we have not yet met your 2019-2020 FWSP requests. We are still processing incoming applications as students submit them, and will do so through the month of September. All departments should monitor web assignment pages on a daily basis for updates and changes. Unfortunately, we are unable to contact supervisors directly when there are changes to their web assignment pages.
!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!
This is currently the peak processing time at our Office of Financial Aid. We will not be able to get back to you right away regarding your FWS concerns. Please allow at least 2-3 business days for us to respond to you. We also kindly ask that you do not contact our office after viewing your assignment page to tell us that you do not yet have as many students as you requested, or to inquire as to why. We will be unable to respond to those types of emails or phone calls at this time.
Please be assured that we have a record of all requests from every department, as well as how many students have currently been assigned and how many we still need to assign. We are still very busy processing job applications as they come in and we will assign additional students to those departments who have less than the number requested, as quickly as possible. Thank you so much for your anticipated understanding and patience!
2019-2020 FWSP START DATE
PAYROLL REMINDER
Please remember that it is the responsibility of the departments that the students work for (with the exception of participating RBHS departments*) to onboard their student employees in the payroll system, enter hours worked and track their earnings to ensure they do not exceed their award amounts. Please view the attached instructions for help with viewing FWS earnings.
*RBHS departments who employ Rutgers-legacy FWSP students, there will be no changes to the way in which we process payroll for participating RBHS departments at this time.
REMINDERS
- When sending inquiries to seo_nwk@ofa.rutgers.edu, please be sure to include your FWSP ID number (170XXX)
- At this time, we do not anticipate being able to offer increases to students’ FWSP awards for the 2019-2020 academic year. Schedule your students accordingly based on the award amount that is shown. If they exceed their FWS earnings, plan to have those amounts charged to your department’s budget.
- If you have not yet submitted job descriptions forms, there is no guarantee that we will be able to place FWS students in your department.
- Students have to be currently enrolled to be eligible to participate in the FWS program.
- Departments who hire students for non-FWSP job openings are welcome to post jobs through the Job Location and Development Program (JLDP) via the Rutgers Handshake platform. There is no fee for posting jobs in the JLDP.
