COVID-19 Policy Exceptions
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, courses taken during the spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020, winter 2021, spring 2021, and summer 2021 semesters may be successfully completed with a grade of C or Pass.
The requirements for Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–New Brunswick programs of study can be divided into three parts.
Students must complete the requirements of their chosen major that are in effect at the time of their admission into Rutgers Business School.
In addition to the RBS curriculum students are required to complete the general education requirements of the SAS Core Curriculum.
To receive a degree from the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New Brunswick, students must take at least 45 business credits at the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–New Brunswick.
Please Note: There are 4 courses from the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) that resemble Rutgers Business School course titles. If you take these courses, they will NOT count towards completion of your RBS degree. The courses are:
RBS students are not permitted to declare a second major or a minor in the Environmental Business and Economics program at SEBS due to the overlap of the above-listed courses with required RBS courses.
Students must complete five foundational core classes, ideally by the end of the sophomore year. All foundational core classes must be completed with a grade of C or better.
All RBS students must complete these 15 courses regardless of their choice of major program. All Business Core requirements must be completed with a grade of C or better.
* Accounting majors must take Business Law I as their required course. All other business majors may choose either Business Law I or Business Ethics.
** Management Information Systems is required for all majors except accounting. Accounting majors must take Accounting Information Systems (33:010:458).
*** Beginning in the Fall 2023 semester, there will be an update to the Business Forum (33:011:300) course requirement. If you have already taken Business Forum (33:011:300), and passed the course with a C or better, you will not need to complete 33:011:301, 302, and 303. If you entered RBS Fall 2023 or later, you will need to take the new three course sequence (33:011:301, 302, and 303). If you have already taken Business Forum 300, you may not take for credit the new 1-credit Business Forum courses.

The major requirements for Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New Brunswick programs of study include a combination of required and elective courses that students take according to their choice of major. Students must complete the requirements of the major that are in effect at the time of their admission into RBS. Students may have up to three majors. All major required and elective courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
Students who are enrolled in a Rutgers Business School Undergraduate Program in New Brunswick major can complete a concentration in Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Business, Leadership Skills, Management Information Systems, Real Estate and Sales.
Undergraduate students have an opportunity to get a head start on earning a business master’s degree, which can provide a strong foundation at the start of their careers. Rutgers Business School has designed two paths for undergraduate students to be seamlessly admitted into graduate-level programs that lead to a master’s degree: Gateway and Accelerated programs.
Students who are not enrolled in a Rutgers Business School Undergraduate Program in New Brunswick major can minor in Business Administration or Entrepreneurship.
