In the interconnected global economy, a clear understanding of the complex global business environment is important to compete domestically as well as in international markets. The Global Business concentration is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and global perspectives required to thrive in the global workplace.
Learning Goals
- Students will be able to identify key management challenges presented by globalization and describe techniques for addressing them.
- Students will use their communications and critical thinking skills to resolve challenges that arise because of their impact of demographic and cultural diversity in business situations.
- Students will have an understanding of the sources of globalization, be able to describe the major effects of globalization on individuals and organizations, and to understand the diversity of the global market place.
- Students will be able to demonstrate how multi-national firms cope with changing economic conditions, marketing and advertising practices, local, national and international politics, and personnel and management problems arising from cultural differences.
The Concentration's Structure
RBS students pursuing the Global Business concentration will take 3 courses (9 credits). The courses include two Global Business Core courses (6 credits) and one Elective (3 credits).
