Mission
The Road to Consulting Program aims to prepare students in our cohorts for careers in consulting, developing well-rounded candidates with the skills and experience needed to succeed in the field. Our primary focus is to place our cohorts in internships and full-time roles, ultimately helping us establish a stronger network of Rutgers students at top firms such as the Big 4, MBB, and elite boutique consulting firms.
About
Rutgers Road to Consulting (RTC) is an exclusive two-year pipeline program for rising sophomores and juniors to build skills and competencies relevant to a career in consulting. We provide students selected for this program with technical and behavioral workshops, speaker events, mentorship opportunities, and experiential learning in the world of consulting to foster successful, thriving careers.
Some of the main ways RTC prepares students include building relevant skills, preparing them for interviews, and providing a network for cohort members to seek guidance and mentorship. RTC cohort members will immerse themselves in case competitions and workshops and take an exclusive consulting class taught by RTC’s director, learning the dynamics of the consulting industry as well as strategies for problem-solving and communicating solutions. Members will then have the opportunity to practice their skills through mock interviews and Rocketblocks, a case interview preparation service. Through RTC’s network, members will also be able to meet with consulting professionals in a variety of sectors, such as technology and healthcare.
Since its inception, RTC has had successful Cohorts, with members landing internships and jobs at companies like the Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Johnson & Johnson, and more. RTC also has a robust advisory board representing multiple firms that offer support to students as practicing consultants. They leverage their experience, expertise, and network in order to advance the students’ success and provide valuable insight into consulting roles, hiring practices, and career progression. Our board acts as a resource for mentoring, case analysis, classroom learning, and other activities.

How can I join RTC?
Any student from Rutgers New Brunswick and Rutgers Newark can apply in the spring semester of their freshman/sophomore year. All majors and backgrounds are welcome.
The application form will be sent via email and will also be available on our social media accounts during the relevant timeframe.
